Small is Beautiful!
St. Mary’s Primary School in Bucknell is not a large school. But what a wonderful school it is! When Linda McClean, teacher of Class 1, asked me to visit, I was delighted. I had a full day with all the children and even managed to fit in a Creative Writing Workshop! The chocolate cake pudding for lunch was delicious!

A Super Sunny Day at Kensington Prep School
It was the first ever Book Festival on a perfect spring day. We talked about everything from fast food favourites to New York crocodiles and urban legends. The girls even performed a play outside in the sunshine!

Book Day at QEH Junior School in Bristol, March 2015
I was delighted when Joy Richards asked me to visit the school. We talked about big game hunting on the Nile and New York gangsters in Edwardian times.

World Book Day at Woodfield Primary, March 2015
I had a tremendous time at Woodfield Primary in Wolverhampton. It’s a great big school with hundreds of great children. And all of them really enjoyed World Book Day, 2015.

Fabulous Book Festival at Hazlegrove School, March 2015
Everything about Hazlegrove is wonderful! So many books. So many keen readers. Even the sausages are homemade and come straight from the school farm. I had a superb day.

A Day with the Girls at St. Hilda's, Bushey
This October, Book Week kicked off with a visit to St. Hilda’s. We talked about writing novels and I told some stories about growing up in Quebec and particularly about the bad behaviour of a big grey cat called Bogey.

A lovely day at the Linton Literary Festival, May 11, 2014
It was a huge honour to be asked to speak at Linton’s bi-annual festival, May 11th. I had a great audience and we talked about everything from log jams on the Gatineau River in Quebec to Anglo Saxon poetry. Ruth Keys, the librarian at the college, was delighted. “You could have heard a pin drop,” she said.
